"A Soundwalk Through Shanghai" is a recording of an excursion through Shanghai made in 2010, compressed in time. We cross the Huaihai Middle Road, follow parallel backstreets where the sound of men playing mahjong mix with the activity of children, bikes, scooters and woman going about their daily chores. The excursion heads towards markets in the Laoximen district. A clear jump in time and space over the Huangpu River launches us into the World Expo 2010.
